Oikophilia or the New Colonialism

A thoughtful discussion about what it means to belong to a State.  Emphasizing assimilation to the new “oikos”, is a key component of immigrating to a new State, especially for those of an “illegal” provenance. 

But then again, if someone illegally immigrates, it is hard to detect, and attaching oneself to a non-assimilated tribe is probably a given for them.   

Yet assimilation is the starting point for all who inhabit a State, and if not emphasized, results in micro-communities that survive, disjointed and unaffiliated, particularly with the larger thing called “State”.
